The transition from a linear plastics economy to a circular system requires substantial changes to supply chains and the individual firms along that supply chain.

1. Circular transition at the firm level

At the Center for Industrial Production, we are researching how firms can best tackle this transition. Specifically, we research how to organize supply chains and logistics for a circular plastic economy, and how manufacturers can transform their operations to enable more circular business models.

2. Circular transition at the industry level

At the Department for Planning, we are researching the transition towards circular plastic at the industry level, investigating how partners across the value chain in the fishery industry can work together to enable a more circular use of plastics – and thereby reducing plastic waste in the ocean.
